I guess that’s the difference between a true artist and a crafter. As an artist, you depend on your creativity and commissioned work as your source of income. For crafters like me, it’s always fun to create because there are no deadlines or projects that have to be completed in a timely manner. It’s good to know that YOU can create just for fun, Tim.
I think a true artist is someone who is genuinely inspired to create and share. Income doesn’t have anything to do with it in my opinion. You are a true artist.
I’m so glad you said that Tim. I agreed whole-heartedly. Whether or not you are an Artist, has to do with your soul, not your pocketbook. Bonnie, I can see your point too though, being a writer and under deadlines, has taken much of the ‘joy’ away from it for me. A fine line there to be sure… though I still feel anyone who creates in any medium is an Artist… some are simply paid in smiles 😉
I think that fits well with “every now and then create something for yourself”. Something many people don’t consider important enough to do but they plan on doing that “later”. What if later never comes?
It’s very true. There are days when I have skipped creating a blogpost, because it’s so easy to get caught up in feeling there isn’t any time. I’m glad I’ve been able to stick to the daily schedule for the most part.
I’m jealous you have time to create just to create. Beautiful once again! 😀 I’m so busy type formatting books…ughhhhh. Hopefully next week I will finally be able to enjoy drawing. Enjoy!
It has more to do with making time rather than having the time. I only spend a few minutes creating every day. I think that’s the key, if you set up a short time – say 20 minutes a day, it’s easier to stick with it. Best of luck with the type – I actually enjoy working with type – it’s a real challenge to get it just right!
You such an inspiring artist. I am amazed how you just keep going. I let life take over and I get behind. I try to take some time for myself, but it’s hard on this end. Thank you so much for assuring me it can be done, if I just apply myself. TFS. {{{Tim}}}
I know finding time for oneself is a challenge. I find if I schedule a little time every day is when I’m usually able to make it happen. It’s so easy to lose track of it, though.
Hi Tim!! You are an amazing artist! Thanks for sharing all that create with us! This image along with many of your others would make an amazing stamp! 🙂
Amen to the sentiment. Love this drawing.

Hi Tim. Are you going to color this drawing and the other four you have created since? I’m always eager to add them to my blog posts. Happy coloring!

I just found your comment! I’ll try to color some new ones tomorrow.
