Creating as a form of therapy is a continuing theme on this blog. Today, I found that blogging has taken a really bad start to the day, and turned it more toward the positive.

Sometimes I feel like I have the world on a string.

It’s a very busy, chaotic world sometimes, but it’s still the world on a string. So, maybe it’s a matter of hanging onto the right feelings – holding on to a sense of the best part of the big picture, and trying not to let that feeling go when dealing with all the little, daily details.

Today, I’m posting two images from my Reflections Calendars for comparison.

This is the time of year I look back at my work to see if I’ve grown. Then, I try to figure out how I can experiment and stretch myself with my new work. I’ve always had the philosophy that I want my work to consistently show improvement. I strive to make each piece better than the last. It’s not always possible to achieve that, and I may have reached a plateau in my work. But I will be striving to improve this year.
