Creating as a form of therapy is a continuing theme on this blog. Today, I found that blogging has taken a really bad start to the day, and turned it more toward the positive.
Here’s the colorized version of the post from a couple of days ago – my vision from the dentist chair.
Oh so true about the thorns. Love this! Haven’t commented in a few day but I am loving everything and that you are showing color versions of your sketches. That a was so cool that your art was in the Pier One add. I know you want to publish a book but I think you touch more people with art.
Have a wonderful day!

I think I’m moving beyond the desire to publish a book. I explored that possibility, and I don’t think it’s the right avenue for me. I’m finding my limits in what I’m able to accomplish in this one lifetime, and my daily schedule is pretty much maxed out. LOL! Hop you have a great day!
I have to say that I would buy the book, the print, the stationary – whatever you publish! Your work is, in a word from my teen years in the 80s, awesome.
I think the coloured version is the ‘after the dentist chair’ version … much happier! As for the thorns, the same can be said of the ‘thorny people’ who pass through our lives … just focus on the rose.
Hi Bonnie, You’re right, the color didn’t come until the day after the dentist – LOL! I think everyone needs thorns for self protection, and sometimes you have to look beyond the thorns when they show themselves, because everyone also has a rose. I think it’s just a matter of timing which part is showing at a particular time and situation. So maybe when you come across someone who seems to be all thorns, it might just be a matter of timing!
Hi Laurie, Thanks! I’m so glad you’re being incredibly patient waiting for your giveaway prize! And I’m glad you still come back and comment so frequently. It lets me know that you aren’t holding it against me!
Hi Tim. You are so kind. I know everything will work out when it’s supposed to. And no way do I hold anything against you. Don’t worry about a thing. Great things are always worth waiting for. Have a great weekend!

I really appreciate your work! The torns are so important because we learn from every prick if we choose to. You seems so humble with your amazing work and that’s what keeps me intrigued, aside from the fact it’s wonderful art! I’ve said before that perfection is overrated! Be true to art..you are amazing!

Hi Arlene,
Yes, that’s true. It’s the hard way to learn sometimes, but it can be a learning experience.
Thanks,
Tim
I’m sorry to hear you had a thorny start to your day Tim. I hope the rest of the day gives you roses!
Hi Nicole,
Those days happen, but the day has gotten better.
Thanks,
Tim
Your images are lovely and the words are very inspiring; especially ‘the thorns in life’… I will remember this one for when I need it.
Thanks
Glad you like this one – thanks for letting me know!
